Description
This is a pre-solicitation notice and not a request for quotes, bids, or proposals. The purpose of this is to give industry a heads-up that a requirement will be forthcoming. A solicitation will be posted that includes further requirement specifications and contract terms and conditions. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), St. Paul District has a requirement for a contractor to provide a portable, high-resolution multibeam echo sounder (MBES) system for hydrographic survey operations. This procurement is intended as a brand name or equal acquisition, with the Norbit iWBMS Xh-class multibeam sonar system serving as the reference standard for required performance and operational capability. It is estimated that this project will be solicited within the next couple of days. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this project will be 334511, Search, Detection, Navigation, Guidance, Aeronautical, and Nautical System and Instrument Manufacturing with a size standard of 1,350 employees. The resulting contract shall be a Firm, Fixed-Price contract. The solicitation shall be a Total Small Business set aside. The solicitation will be a request for quote (RFQ). Product specifications will be further defined in the forthcoming solicitation. This synopsis is not a request for quotes, proposals, or bids. This is a notice that a solicitation for a competitive acquisition for the award of one firm-fixed price contract is intended to be issued via Contract Opportunities (https://sam.gov/content/opportunities) in the near future. The specifications will be detailed in the solicitation.
