Description

The Great Lakes St. Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation (GLS) is adopting the Tennessee Valley Authority's (TVA's) categorical exclusion (CE) for siting, construction, and use of buildings and associated infrastructure under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) for use in GLS construction projects. This adoption allows GLS to apply TVA's CE 38, which covers actions involving buildings and infrastructure that generally disturb no more than 10 acres of undisturbed land or 25 acres of previously disturbed land. GLS consulted with TVA to ensure the appropriateness of this adoption and will apply the CE in a manner consistent with TVA's application, considering extraordinary circumstances and environmental compliance.
