Description

The Hydrocarbons and Geothermal Energy Office (HGEO) of the Department of Energy (DOE) has received an application from Venture Global CP2 LNG, LLC requesting long-term, multi-contract authorization to export domestically produced liquefied natural gas (LNG) equivalent to approximately 620.5 billion cubic feet of natural gas per year. The export will be from the proposed CP2 LNG Expansion Project, which will be interconnected with the CP2 LNG export terminal currently under construction in Cameron Parish, Louisiana. The application is filed under the Natural Gas Act and seeks authorization to export LNG to non-Free Trade Agreement nations. The DOE will review the application and consider public comments and protests submitted by October 2, 2026.
