Description
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is seeking public comments on a draft environmental assessment (EA) and draft finding of no significant impact (FONSI) regarding the reauthorization of power operations at the Duane Arnold Energy Center (DAEC). The NRC is considering issuance of an exemption and three license amendments requested by NextEra Energy Duane Arnold, LLC to support the potential reauthorization of power operations at DAEC through February 21, 2034. The draft EA evaluates the environmental effects of the proposed actions and concludes that the impacts would not be significant. Comments are due by September 2, 2026.
