Description
In accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA), the University of California San Diego intends to repatriate certain cultural items that meet the definition of objects of cultural patrimony and that have a cultural affiliation with the Indian Tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations. The notice covers 176 lots of cultural items excavated from sites in Nevada and associated with the Washoe Tribe of Nevada & California. Repatriation may occur on or after September 2, 2026. Requests for repatriation must be submitted in writing to the authorized representative at the University of California San Diego.
