This notice concerns the intended repatriation of cultural items by the University of California San Diego, as published by the National Park Service (Department of the Interior): - Government buyer: - National Park Service, Department of the Interior - University of California San Diego (as the responsible institution) - No OEMs or commercial vendors are involved; this is not a procurement of products or services - Subject of notice: - Repatriation of 176 lots of cultural items - Items were excavated from sites in Lyon, Nye, and White Pine Counties, Nevada - Items are affiliated with the Washoe Tribe of Nevada & California - Unique requirements: - Notice issued under the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA) - Repatriation requests may be submitted by Indian Tribes, Native Hawaiian organizations, or lineal descendants with cultural affiliation - University of California San Diego will determine the most appropriate requestor if there are competing claims - No commercial products, part numbers, or quantities relevant to procurement are included

Description

In accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA), the University of California San Diego intends to repatriate certain cultural items that meet the definition of objects of cultural patrimony and that have a cultural affiliation with the Indian Tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations. The notice covers 176 lots of cultural items excavated from sites in Nevada and associated with the Washoe Tribe of Nevada & California. Repatriation may occur on or after September 2, 2026. Requests for repatriation must be submitted in writing to the authorized representative at the University of California San Diego.
