Description

In accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA), California State University, Sacramento intends to repatriate 20 cultural items classified as sacred objects. These items include a walrus tusk necklace, 15 Kapa (tapa) samples, three flaked stone tools from Mauna Kea, and a wood cargo hook from the Island of Hawai'i. The items have cultural affiliation with the Hui Iwi Kuamo'lo and are needed for traditional Native American religious practices. Repatriation may occur on or after September 2, 2026.
