Description

Stanford University intends to repatriate a cultural item defined as an object of cultural patrimony with cultural affiliation to Indian Tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations. The item includes a large redwood canoe from the Klamath River area and a stone pestle associated with the Wilton Rancheria, California. Repatriation may occur on or after September 2, 2026. Requests for repatriation must be sent to Stanford University and may be submitted by lineal descendants or culturally affiliated tribes or organizations.
