Description

The University of Michigan has completed an inventory of an associated funerary object in accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). The inventory determined a cultural affiliation between the funerary object and Indian Tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations. The object is a lot of various archaeological materials from the T.M. Sanders site in Texas, dating to the Mississippian period (1000 AD - 1450 AD). Repatriation of the object may occur on or after September 2, 2026, and requests for repatriation must be sent to the University of Michigan's NAGPRA Office.
