Description
The Louisiana Division of Archaeology has completed an inventory of human remains in accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). The inventory identified human remains representing at least four Native American individuals with no known lineal descendants or culturally affiliated Indian Tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations. The remains were obtained through various means including seizure during a criminal investigation and donations. Repatriation of the human remains may occur on or after September 2, 2026, upon request by eligible parties.
