Refurbishment of Space Welding Vacuum Gloves by ILC Dover for NASA MSFC

NASA Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) is seeking refurbishment services for two Space Welding Vacuum Gloves originally manufactured by ILC Dover in 2009. - Sole source procurement is planned for ILC ASTROSPACE LLC (ILC Dover). - The initial assessment will occur the week of June 8-12, 2026, at ILC Dover's Houston facility. - Refurbishment includes: - Leak testing - Replacement of major components with equal or better parts - Evaluation of critical safety items: stitching, bellows bracketry, bladder integrity, bearings, tether brackets, and pressure maintenance - NAICS code is 541330 (Engineering Services). - NASA is accepting capability statements from other vendors, but ILC Dover is considered the only qualified provider. - Refurbishment is expected to complete within approximately two weeks after the assessment. - No specific part numbers are listed; the requirement is for service and refurbishment of existing gloves. - Commercial item procurement under FAR Part 12.

Synopsis:

NASA/NSSC has a requirement for Initial Assessment for High-Vacuum Welding Glove Refurbishment by Original Vendor. 

NASA/NSSC intends to issue a sole source contract to   ILC ASTROSPACE LLC  under the authority of FAR 12.102(a). It has been determined that   ILC ASTROSPACE LLC  is the sole provider of Initial Assessment for High-Vacuum Welding Glove Refurbishment by Original Vendor

NASA/NSSC will be the procuring center for this effort. Performance will be located at NASA/ Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC).

The Government intends to acquire Commercialitems or services using the provisions, clauses and procedures prescribed in FAR Part 12 for Commercial

The NAICS Code for this procurement is 541330.

Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 3:00 p.m. Central Standard Time on 8/5/2026. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
