The Iowa Department of Administrative Services (DAS) is seeking bids for welding and mechanical services to refit Building 20 at the Mount Pleasant Correctional Facility. - Government Buyer: - Iowa Department of Administrative Services (DAS) - Project Scope: - Removal of existing steam pressure-reducing valves (PRVs), actuated valves, piping, and related components - Fabrication and installation of a new 4-inch steam header with six 2-inch threaded outlets - Installation of six new 2-inch steam actuated valves (automated valves) - Installation of a new 4-inch steam relief line routed to the building exterior - Installation of unions and isolation valves for maintenance on both inlet and outlet sides of each reducing and automatic valve - Piping supports, water heater steam tie-in, and steam backfeed re-integration - Comprehensive testing, leak and pressure testing, operational testing, and commissioning - Provision of as-built drawings, manufacturer data sheets, O&M manuals, and a commissioning report - One-year warranty on all work - OEMs and Vendors: - Siemens referenced for control integration and drawings - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Contractor must provide all supervision, labor, materials, tools, equipment, and transportation - Compliance with all applicable codes and standards - All work must be documented and a one-year warranty provided

Description

The Iowa Department of Administrative Services (DAS) is soliciting bids to provide welding services to refit Building 20 at the Mount Pleasant Correctional Facility (MPCF) with new automated valves to heat the MLO Building, which houses around 100-150 minimum incarcerated individuals. The scope includes removal of existing steam pressure-reducing valves and associated piping, installation of new steam PRV station, fabrication and installation of a new steam header, relief piping installation, valve installation with maintenance provisions, piping supports, water heater steam tie-in, steam backfeed re-integration, and testing and commissioning. The contractor must provide all supervision, labor, materials, tools, equipment, and transportation necessary to complete the work in compliance with applicable codes and standards. A site visit is scheduled for August 11, 2026, at the Mount Pleasant Correctional Facility.
