Description

The project will assess the environmental capacity of the Muskeg River watershed for the release of non-process affected water, considering releases from oil sands mining and aggregate extraction operations. It will analyze past and present hydrological and water quality data, as well as current industrial release data under EPEA approvals. The assessment incorporates ambient and community-based monitoring information to evaluate potential effects on the hydrological integrity and water quality of the Muskeg River and tributaries. Results will be shared with Indigenous communities, industry, and other stakeholders.
