The Alaska Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Division of Mining, Land and Water (DMLW), is conducting a public notice for a noncompetitive land sale of approximately 30.92 acres located about seven miles southeast of Ester in the Fairbanks North Star Borough. The land parcel, identified as Lot 5, Section 6, Township 2 South, Range 2 West, Fairbanks Meridian, is proposed to be conveyed to the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation (AHFC) at no cost. AHFC is a political subdivision of the state with the purpose of assisting in land acquisition and development for housing for persons of lower and moderate income. The public comment period ends at 4:30 PM on September 1, 2026, with a response due date of September 2, 2026.
