Description

The Louisiana Division of Archaeology (LDOA) has completed an inventory of human remains and associated funerary objects in accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). The inventory includes human remains representing multiple individuals and associated funerary objects such as ceramics, glass beads, and other items from various sites in Louisiana. The LDOA has determined cultural affiliations between these remains and several Indian Tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations. Repatriation of the human remains and associated funerary objects may occur on or after August 31, 2026, and written requests for repatriation must be sent to the LDOA Collections Manager.
