This notice announces the completion of an inventory of human remains and funerary objects by San Diego State University (SDSU) in compliance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). - Government buyer: - San Diego State University (SDSU), in coordination with the Department of the Interior and National Park Service - No OEMs or commercial vendors are involved; this is not a procurement action - Products/services involved: - Inventory and documentation of human remains and funerary objects - Items include lithics, ceramics, faunal remains, ground stone, shell, charcoal, soil samples, post-contact items, flora items, and noncultural items - Unique requirements: - Compliance with NAGPRA for the repatriation of remains and objects - Identification of cultural affiliation with multiple Kumeyaay and Diegueno Mission Indian Tribes - Process for repatriation requests by affiliated tribes or lineal descendants - No contract value, product part numbers, or quantities relevant to procurement - No period of performance; action is based on notification and repatriation process timelines

Description

San Diego State University (SDSU) has completed an inventory of human remains and associated funerary objects in accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). The inventory determined a cultural affiliation between the remains and objects and various Indian Tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations. The notice details multiple lots of associated funerary objects and human remains from sites in San Diego and Imperial Counties, California. Repatriation of these items may occur on or after August 31, 2026, with requests to be sent to SDSU's authorized representative.
