Description
The Louisiana Division of Archaeology (LDOA) has completed an inventory of human remains and associated funerary objects in accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). The inventory identifies a cultural affiliation between the human remains and associated funerary objects and Indian Tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations. The notice details the repatriation process and specifies that repatriation may occur on or after August 31, 2026. Written requests for repatriation must be sent to the authorized representative at the Louisiana Division of Archaeology.
