This notice concerns the completion of an inventory of Native American human remains and funerary objects by the Louisiana Department of Culture, Recreation, and Tourism, Division of Archaeology (LDOA): - Government buyer: Louisiana Department of Culture, Recreation, and Tourism, Division of Archaeology (LDOA), Baton Rouge, LA - No OEMs or commercial vendors are involved; this is not a procurement or contracting opportunity - Inventory includes: - Human remains representing at least 24 individuals - Six lots of associated funerary objects (ceramics and lithics) - Items recovered from site 16JA21 (Quarles Lake, Jackson Parish) and various unknown sites in northern Louisiana and southern Arkansas - Cultural affiliation: Caddo Nation of Oklahoma - Purpose: Notice outlines the process for Indian Tribes, Native Hawaiian organizations, or lineal descendants to request repatriation of these items - No products or services are being procured; no contract value or period of performance applies

Description

The Louisiana Division of Archaeology (LDOA) has completed an inventory of human remains and associated funerary objects in accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). The inventory includes human remains representing at least 24 individuals and associated funerary objects such as ceramics and lithics. These remains and objects have been culturally affiliated with the Caddo Nation of Oklahoma. Repatriation of these items may occur on or after August 31, 2026, and written requests for repatriation must be sent to the LDOA Collections Manager in Baton Rouge, LA.
