Description

In accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA), the Louisiana Division of Archaeology has completed an inventory of human remains and associated funerary objects. They have determined a cultural affiliation between these remains and certain Indian Tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations. The inventory includes remains of at least 100 individuals and 13 associated funerary objects from site 16RI13, Gold Mine, in Richland Parish, LA. Repatriation of these remains and objects may occur on or after August 31, 2026.
