Description

The Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History (LACMNH) intends to repatriate three cultural items classified as objects of cultural patrimony. These items include two pot sherds and one scraper, all culturally affiliated with the Morongo Band of Mission Indians, California. The items were originally removed from Morongo Valley and the old Morongo Indian Reservation by an amateur collector and donated to LACMNH in 1971. Repatriation may occur on or after August 31, 2026, and requests for repatriation must be submitted to the designated NAGPRA Officer at LACMNH.
