This opportunity is issued by the Vermont Air National Guard (VTANG), part of the DEPT OF DEFENSE, DEPT OF THE ARMY, NATIONAL GUARD BUREAU. - The procurement seeks two highly durable, 1:10 scale (or larger) F-35A Lightning II replica models for long-term, open-air outdoor display at two Vermont sites. - The F-35A Lightning II is manufactured by Lockheed Martin (OEM highlighted). - Requirements include: - Design, fabrication, delivery, and installation of the replica models - Use of fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) exterior with an internal steel frame - UV-resistant, fire-rated exterior paint with 2K clear coat - Powder-coated pedestal pole (approx. 7 ft), with bolt-on assembly - Mold fabrication, with ownership of molds transferred to VTANG - Models must be engineered to withstand extreme Vermont winter conditions - Mounting system must be certified by a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) - Detailed painting and high-accuracy appearance, including cockpit, landing gear bays, and weapon bays - Installation and logistics services include: - Final assembly, transportation, hoisting/leveling, and mechanical anchoring of pedestals to pre-installed concrete foundations at two sites - Compliance with base security access controls - Firms must demonstrate expertise in FRP molding, steel fabrication, and PE-certified mounting systems, and provide past performance on similar projects. - No specific OEMs or vendors are named for the replica fabrication; Lockheed Martin is the OEM for the F-35A aircraft.

Description

The Vermont Air National Guard (VTANG) is issuing this Sources Sought Notice to identify qualified small businesses capable of designing, fabricating, delivering, and installing two (2) highly durable, 1:10 scale (or larger) F-35A Lightning II replica models for long-term, open-air outdoor display in Vermont.

Interested firms are requested to submit a Capability Statement (not exceeding 5 pages) detailing:

Company Profile: Name, address, UEI, cage code, and socio-economic status. Technical Approach: Brief overview of how your firm would approach the FRP molding, steel fabrication, and PE-certified mounting system. Past Performance: Examples of similar outdoor display, sculpture, or aerospace replica fabrication projects completed within the last 5 years. Clarifying Questions: Any feedback or questions regarding the technical specifications or installation parameters.
