This opportunity supports the US Navy's Vector Biology Research Program (VBRP) in Nigeria, focusing on mosquito surveillance and research: - Government Buyer: - US Navy, Armed Forces Health Surveillance Division, Global Emerging Infections Surveillance (GEIS) Branch - Vector Biology Research Program (VBRP), US Naval Medical Research Unit EURAFCENT (NAMRU EAC) - Scope of Work: - Contractor to conduct mosquito surveillance and research in Nigeria, targeting Aedes species - Activities include field collection, species identification, rearing, insecticide resistance testing (WHO bioassay and molecular assays), and arbovirus testing - Monthly reporting of mosquito data and testing results to NAMRU EAC - Products and Equipment: - Contractor-furnished supplies: larval dippers, collection cups, nets, mosquito cages, larval food, sugar solution, insectary consumables, pipettes, microscope, forceps, petridish, batteries for adult mosquito trapping - Equipment for biological sample storage: incubators, refrigerators, freezers - NAMRU EAC provides entomological tools and molecular testing kits - Services Requested: - Comprehensive mosquito surveillance and research services, including coordination of field and laboratory activities, procurement and maintenance of supplies, and data reporting - Unique Requirements: - Contractor must be based in Nigeria and capable of managing all field and laboratory operations - Supplies and equipment for larval collection and rearing are to be provided by the contractor - Adherence to monthly reporting and coordination with NAMRU EAC principal investigator - No specific OEMs or part numbers are identified in the solicitation or attachments
