Description
NOAA is requesting public input to help identify geographic regions suitable for Aquaculture Opportunity Areas (AOA) in U.S. waters. This effort supports an Executive Order aimed at promoting American seafood competitiveness and involves spatial analysis, stakeholder consultation, and coordination with federal, state, and tribal entities. The input will inform NOAA's identification of future AOAs to support sustainable commercial aquaculture development. Public comments are invited until September 13, 2026, with three webinar listening sessions scheduled.
