VA Solicitation for Steam and Condensate Line Replacement at Lyons, NJ

• The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 2 (James J. Peters VA Medical Center), is soliciting construction services for the replacement of steam and condensate lines at the Lyons VA Medical Center in Lyons, NJ.
• Project scope includes:
  • Replacement of approximately 100 linear feet of 8-inch diameter steam and condensate piping
  • Installation of bellows expansion joints (minimum 3-inch expansion capacity)
  • Replacement of all associated pipe supports
  • Installation of calcium silicate insulation with metal shield and proper labeling
  • Site restoration with 4 inches of topsoil and grass seed over excavated areas
  • Replacement of any disturbed sidewalks or hard surfaces
  • Non-destructive (X-ray) testing of all welds
• Contractor must provide all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision for excavation, pipe replacement, leak testing, insulation, and restoration
• Additional requirements:
  • Obtain all necessary permits (confined-space entry, hot work)
  • Provide required safety personnel, including extraction team
  • Contractor staff must complete training and use the VISN 2 Autodesk Build Construction management platform for all project submissions and correspondence
• No specific OEMs or product part numbers are identified; the procurement is for construction and installation services
• The contract is set aside for service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses (SDVOSB)
• Estimated period of performance is 60 calendar days after Notice to Proceed, during regular business hours
