NASA Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) is seeking a vendor for precision additive manufacturing of Inconel 718 turbine blades and shaft components using laser powder bed fusion technology. - The contract requires: - Use of SLM Solutions 280 machine exclusively - Adherence to NASA-MSFC drawing MC34120-003 - Delivery of: - 7 build plates of DOE samples with hatch parameter variations to minimize dross and improve surface finish - 3 build plates with solid and minimal supports for turbine diameters and blade surfaces - 1 build plate with optimized parameters, including tensile bars, metallurgical witness bars, and high cycle fatigue coupons - 2 build plates with final parts using optimal print parameters for turbine blades - All manufacturing must minimize dross and use minimal or no contact supports - The period of performance is July 2026 through November 2026 - The opportunity is open to vendors capable of meeting these technical requirements - The primary OEM specified is SLM Solutions for the additive manufacturing equipment - Competing vendors must demonstrate capability with SLM 280 and experience with Inconel 718

Synopsis:

NASA/NSSC has a requirement for Custom Turbomachinery Housing Machining. 

NASA/NSSC intends to issue a sole source contract to INTELLIGENT TOOL CORP   1151 Biscayne DR  Concord, North Carolina 28027-8403 United States    under the authority of FAR 12.102(a). It has been determined that   INTELLIGENT TOOL CORP   is the sole provider of Custom Turbomachinery Housing Machining.

NASA/NSSC will be the procuring center for this effort. Performance will be located at NASA/ Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC).

The Government intends to acquire Commercial items or services using the provisions, clauses and procedures prescribed in FAR Part 12 for Commercial

The NAICS Code for this procurement is 332710.

Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 12:00 p.m. Central Standard Time on 8/4/2026. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
