The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Clinical Center is announcing its intent to sole source the procurement of defibrillators for the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU): - Government Buyer: - Agency: National Institutes of Health (NIH) - Sub-agency: Clinical Center - Office: Office of Purchasing and Contracts - OEM Highlighted: - Stryker Sales, LLC is the sole manufacturer and vendor specified - Products Requested: - Stryker LIFEPAK 35 Defibrillator, High Configuration - Quantity: 2 units - Designed for compatibility with existing CC-wide defibrillator supplies and attachments - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Only Stryker equipment is acceptable due to compatibility with current NIH and local emergency response defibrillator systems - The same model is used by the NIH Fire Department and Montgomery County primary response teams, ensuring interoperability - No solicitation will be issued; this is a sole source procurement under simplified acquisition procedures

Description

This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested.

This procurement is for two LIFEPAK 35 Defibrillators - High Configuration. These defibrillators will support patient care in the Clinical Center PICU. Only Stryker can provide defibrillators, supplies and software that is compatible with the CC-Wide defibrillator supplies and attachments. The NIH Fire Department and Montgomery County primary response use the same Stryker Life-Pak 35 defibrillators and accessories that are compatible with the CC Stryker Life-Pak 35.

This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13 –Simplified Acquisition Procedures, Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1), For purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT), contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstance of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. Contracts awarded using FAR Part 13-Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6-Competition Requirements.
