The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Nashville District, is seeking contractors for the replacement and commissioning of the DC battery system at the Cordell Hull Project in Carthage, Tennessee. - Government Buyer: - United States Army Corps of Engineers, Nashville District - OEMs and Vendors: - Leoch Battery (manufacturer of 6OPzS600 flooded battery) - Products Requested: - Sixty (60) flooded lead-acid battery cells (stationary, 2V, 600Ah, e.g., Leoch 6OPzS600) - One (1) properly sized, fabricated battery rack (structural steel, acid-resistant paint, vinyl runner plate) - One (1) spill containment system (compliant with IEEE 1578) - Two (2) DC battery chargers (specifications include input voltage, output DC amps/voltage, parallel operation, redundancy) - One (1) inverter (hot swappable modules, isolated output, make-before-break bypass switch) - Services Requested: - Installation and commissioning of all components - Inspection and acceptance testing (per IEEE 450, IEEE 484, NERC standards) - Removal, recycling, and disposal of replaced equipment (with proof/certificates) - Onsite training for maintenance of battery system, chargers, and inverter (minimum 8 hours total for up to 10 personnel) - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Batteries must meet IEC60896 and DIN 40736 standards - Installation must maintain DC systems operational during work - All work to be completed within 180 days of contract award - Compliance with security and safety protocols required - Contractor must provide all necessary labor, materials, equipment, and supervision
Description
Request for Information: The Government is issuing this Request for Information to determine a competitive basis for the procurement described. This is not a solicitation. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this survey.
This survey is for market research purposes only. Only contractors capable of performing this type of work should respond to this Request for Information.
Requirement: This project shall involve replacement of in kind and commissioning of the DC battery system, inverter, and chargers at the Cordell Hull Project. Equipment to be furnished and installed will be in accordance with the following specifications. The contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, supplies, facilities, transportation, tools, materials, supervision, and other items to perform the work herein.
The contractor shall supply and install the following components:
a. New Batteries: Procurement and replacement of one (1) set of sixty (60) cell stationary flooded cell lead acid battery bank.
b. New Battery Rack: Provide and install properly sized, fabricated, uniform level,1 row battery Rack.
c. New Containment: Provide and install proper containment for the new batteries if old containment is not in compliance with regular standards.
d. New DC Battery Charger: Procurement and replacement of two (2) battery chargers
e. New Inverter: Procurement and replacement of one (1) inverter
