This opportunity involves exterior repair and painting services for the Woods Hole Laboratory Cottage Building, managed by NOAA's Northeast Fisheries Science Center (NEFSC): - Government Buyer: - National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) - National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) - Northeast Fisheries Science Center (NEFSC), Facilities Operations Branch, Woods Hole Laboratory - Scope of Work: - Replace approximately 1,500 sqft of degraded cedar shake siding with B or better grade cedar shingles - Replace exterior trim with PVC or equivalent materials, coated with two coats of exterior-grade white paint - Replace any railing, deck board, or stair parts showing rot or damage with like or better materials, finished with at least two coats of exterior finish (except cedar shingles) - Paint all PVC trim, metal surfaces, wooden trim, stairs, railings, and deck surfaces with primer and at least two coats of color-matched exterior paint - Inspect for rot, degradation, fastening issues, and lead paint; remove and replace as needed - Final inspection and acceptance by NEFSC Facilities Maintenance Supervisor and TPOC - Products/Materials Requested: - Cedar shake siding (1,500 sqft, B or better grade cedar shingles) - PVC or equivalent trim materials - Exterior-grade paint (white, color-matched) - Replacement materials for railings, deck boards, and stairs as needed - Services Requested: - Inspection, preparation, repair, replacement, and painting of exterior surfaces - Lead paint testing and removal if necessary - Final inspection and acceptance procedures - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Compliance with Davis-Bacon Act wage determinations - Payment bonds and irrevocable letters of credit required post-award - Warranty of construction work for one year after final acceptance - Project must be completed by mid-October to avoid winter conditions - No specific OEMs or brand names are required; materials must meet specified grades and standards
