NIST's Biosystems and Biomaterials Division is seeking a fluorescence flow cytometry-based microbial flow cell sorter to advance its biotechnology and bio-surveillance metrology programs. - Government Buyer: - National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Material Measurement Laboratory, Biosystems and Biomaterials Division - Products Requested: - One microbial flow cell sorter (fluorescence flow cytometry-based) - Must support multi-laser excitation, multiple detectors, automated startup, and operation within a biological safety cabinet - Includes control PC with software, startup reagent bundle, and all necessary attachments - Delivery required within 90 days, FOB destination - Manuals (electronic or hardcopy) - Services Requested: - Installation and qualification of the instrument system (within 45 days of delivery) - On-site training for at least three NIST personnel (within 15 business days of installation) - 12-month warranty and service agreement (preventative/routine maintenance, repairs, technical support with 3-day response) - Four optional one-year extended warranty and maintenance support periods (potential total coverage up to five years) - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Instrument must be suitable for small particle and microbial cell sorting - Must enable validation of fluorescence flow cytometry enumeration and cell isolation based on biological function - Operation within a biological safety cabinet is required - Optional trade-in of existing MO FLO ASTRIOS cell sorter - No specific OEMs or part numbers are named in the solicitation or attachments

This is a solicitation for commercial products or commercial services prepared in accordance with the format in Revolutionary FAR Overhaul (RFO) Part 12 - Acquisition of Commercial Products and Commercial Services as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued.

The Biosystems and Biomaterials Division at the Material Measurement Laboratory located at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Gaithersburg, MD plays a vital role in supporting various NIST metrology programs. Biosystems and Biomaterials Division strives to develop innovative methodologies, protocols, and reference materials to foster innovation in biotechnology and bio-surveillance. A cell sorter suited for small particle sorting, especially microbial cells, is needed for validating fluorescence flow cytometry enumeration and characterization work, and for isolating cells based on biological function for further manipulation.

The Contractor shall provide one (1) cell sorter instrument with a 12-month warranty and service agreement. The service agreement shall have a base plus four consecutive option periods to start after the warranty ends.
