Import Adjustment Offset Application Procedures for U.S. Automobile and MHDV Engine Manufacturers

The International Trade Administration (ITA) of the U.S. Department of Commerce is announcing procedures for domestic manufacturers of automobile and medium- and heavy-duty vehicle (MHDV) engines to apply for import adjustment offsets related to tariffs on imported engine parts. - Government Buyer: - U.S. Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration, Enforcement and Compliance - Eligible Applicants: - Domestic manufacturers of automobile and MHDV engines assembled in the United States - Products/Services Requested: - Application and documentation for import adjustment offsets on tariffs for imported automobile and MHDV engine parts - Required submission of production forecasts by model and plant location, engine value calculations, and tariff liability estimates - Unique or Notable Requirements: - Only engines assembled in the U.S. using a minimum number of U.S.-originating core engine components (e.g., turbochargers, heads, blocks, crankshafts, pistons, rods) are eligible - Stricter U.S.-origin content requirements apply in later years - Limited production engine assembly operations are excluded from offset calculations - Offsets may be carried forward indefinitely until fully used - No specific OEMs, vendors, brands, or part numbers are named; the opportunity is open to all qualifying domestic manufacturers
