Description

The New England Fishery Management Council is holding a hybrid public meeting of its Scientific and Statistical Committee to consider actions affecting New England fisheries in the exclusive economic zone. The committee will discuss the Council's final Risk Policy, updates from the Social Sciences Subcommittee, and review information from the Atlantic Herring Plan Development Team including management assessments and catch limits for 2027. Recommendations from this committee will be brought to the full Council for formal consideration and action. The meeting will be held on August 11 and 12, 2026, at the Fairfield Inn & Suites/Waypoint Event Center in New Bedford, MA, with a webinar option available.
