The City of San Buenaventura (Ventura) is seeking consulting firms to provide construction management and geotechnical engineering services for the Santa Paula Branch Line - Rails with Trails Project, a major public works initiative. - Government Buyer: - City of San Buenaventura (City of Ventura), Public Works Department, Transportation Division - OEMs and Vendors: - No specific Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) or commercial vendors are named; the opportunity is for professional services, not product supply - Products/Services Requested: - Construction management services, including: - Full-time Resident Engineer and Lead Inspector - Construction inspection, contract administration, and project documentation - Stormwater and permit compliance - Railroad coordination with VCTC, SCRRA/Metrolink, Sierra Northern Railway, and CPUC - Grant reporting, public outreach, and project closeout - Geotechnical engineering services, including: - Site reconnaissance, drilling, sampling, laboratory and infiltration testing, and data analysis - Recommendations for caisson foundations, retaining walls, asphalt and concrete paving sections - Project Scope and Notable Requirements: - Construction of approximately four miles of Class I multi-use trail between East Ventura Metrolink Station and Saticoy Train Depot - Major infrastructure: two 100-foot pedestrian bridges, retaining walls, drainage, HAWK signals, traffic signal modifications, trail lighting, fencing, landscaping, irrigation, signing and striping, railroad crossing improvements, utility relocations, and ADA improvements - Coordination with multiple agencies and compliance with state-funded transportation project requirements - Experience with railroad-adjacent construction and environmental/grant reporting is required - Geotechnical recommendations include 30-inch caisson foundations, specific paving thicknesses, and ongoing monitoring during construction - Estimated construction contract value is approximately $31.1 million, with construction management services spanning about two years
