This opportunity is an Industry Day and design-build solicitation for replacing the steam boiler system in Building 1515 at Hill Air Force Base with a decentralized, gas-fired hot water boiler system. - Project Scope: - Replace existing steam heat exchanger system with decentralized, high-efficiency gas-fired hot water boilers - Install three RBI Futera III boilers (or approved equivalents), each sized for 50% of the heating load (N+1 redundancy) - Install three vertical inline closed couple boiler pumps (Patterson or equivalent) - Install one Niles Steel Tank hydraulic separator hot water buffer tank (or equivalent) - Integrate new system with existing controls using BACnet protocols - Demolish and remove existing steam equipment - Provide full design, engineering, installation, commissioning, and startup services - Requirements: - Contractor must submit a preliminary design and demonstrate relevant experience - All work must be scheduled around the annual steam shutoff (typically April-May) - Construction period is 60 days after steam shutoff - Comprehensive warranties and commissioning per ASHRAE/NEBB standards - No specific OEMs are mandated; approved equivalents are allowed - Site visit and base access required for interested contractors
Description
This Industry Day is being held to gauge industry’s ability and capability to upgrade the existing heating infrastructure at building 1515. The objective is to transition from the current steam heat exchanger system to a more efficient, decentralized gas-fired hot water boiler system. at Hill AFB. For additional detail please refer to the attached SOW.
We will meet up at the south gate at Hill AFB to gain all contractor access to the base and travel to bulding 1515 to walk the construction area where the new boiler system will be on the 12th of August at 0830. The walk will start at 0900 so if you have access to the base please let me know.
