The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), under the U.S. Department of the Interior, is seeking qualified veterinary service providers for the Litchfield Wild Horse & Burro Corrals in California. - Government Buyer: - Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management (BLM), California State Office and Eagle Lake Field Office - Services Requested: - Comprehensive veterinary care for wild horses and burros, including: - Routine and emergency clinical care - Equine arrival inspections - Coggins testing (Equine Infectious Anemia) and regulatory certification - Surgical castrations (geldings) of stallions and jack burros under anesthesia - Preventative care (vaccinations, parasite control) - Diagnostic radiography (digital/mobile X-rays) - Humane euthanasia, necropsy, and cause-of-death reporting - Health certifications for interstate shipments - Contractor must provide: - Licensed veterinarians with active California licenses and USDA Category II Accreditation - Personnel, surgical tools, anesthesia, and mobile X-ray equipment - Equine experience and compliance with BLM's Comprehensive Animal Welfare Program and AVMA guidelines - Government will furnish vaccines, dewormers, and other medical supplies - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Services may require up to 7-day coverage during peak periods - Strict adherence to animal welfare and veterinary standards (AVMA, AAEP, BLM guidelines) - Timely cause-of-death reporting (within 24 hours) and necropsy as needed - No specific OEMs or product part numbers are referenced; this is a service-based procurement
