The City of Lawrenceville, Georgia is seeking a contractor for the Baker Carter Pressure Improvement Project to enhance its gas distribution infrastructure. - Government Buyer: City of Lawrenceville, Finance Department, Purchasing Office - Scope of Work: - Install approximately 5,200 feet of 4-inch steel main on Baker Carter Drive - Remove one 4-inch below-ground steel valve on Claude Brewer Road - Install approximately 6 feet of 4-inch steel main as a side tap on Claude Brewer Road - All materials (including steel pipe and valves) will be supplied by the City; no specific OEMs or vendors are named - Contractor Responsibilities: - Pigging all mains - Pressure testing all steel lines at a minimum of 750 psi for 24 hours - Jeeping steel lines per city standards - Coating all weld joints with F1 2-part epoxy and repairing coating defects per manufacturer standards - Providing as-built plans, a complete list of all materials and serial/lot numbers, and obtaining Gas System Inspector sign-off - Restoring landscaping and paving to original or better condition, with paving repairs meeting DOT standards - Notable Requirements: - Contractor must have a utility contractor license and experience with similar projects - Submission of a 5% bid bond, 100% payment and performance bonds - Insurance from companies with an AM Best rating of A-5 or greater, licensed in Georgia, and listed in the Federal Registry - Liquidated damages of $1,000 per day for delays beyond the 270-day completion period - No specific OEMs or proprietary products are required, as all materials are city-supplied

This project involves installing approximately 5,200 feet of 4-inch steel pipe and removing a below ground valve installed on 4-inch steel. The locations and quantities are subject to change but will be of similar scope. The bid is a line item bid with a not to exceed total. The work includes pipe installation and valve removal, with all materials supplied by the City of Lawrenceville.
