Description
Canada requires the Signal Distress Day & Night No.1 Mk5, a survival signal device used to alert potential rescuers of an individual's position in distress. The device is a waterproof tubular canister containing a flare at one end and a smoke signal at the other. It is used in life rafts aboard Canadian Armed Forces aircraft and carried by aircrews, soldiers in wilderness environments, and sailors at sea. The contract includes firm, annual, and optional quantities to be delivered to the Canadian Forces Ammunition Depot in Dundurn, Saskatchewan, over a 48-month period starting December 1, 2026.
