NASA Goddard Space Flight Center's Hot Environments Lab is seeking to procure a specialized Fourier-transform infrared spectrometer (FTIR) for planetary atmospheric studies. - Sole source procurement is intended for Bruker Scientific LLC, the OEM of the required equipment. - The FTIR must cover UV-VIS-IR spectral ranges and include: - MIR-KBr beamsplitter - Automatic beam splitter exchange unit (up to 3 beam splitters) - Room temperature DLaTGS detector (multi detector unit, upgradeable to 5 detectors) - High power IR source - Aperture wheel (13 positions) - Validation wheel (8 positions) - OPUS/IR software package - BPAD ATR Polymer Library (234 spectra of 117 polymers) - Delivery is required within 12 weeks after drawing approval to NASA Goddard, Building 34, Room C155. - NASA is accepting capability statements from other vendors, but Bruker is currently identified as the only source. - NAICS code is 334516 (Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing). - No specific part numbers are provided; quantity is one FTIR system. - The procurement is for a commercial item and is not yet awarded. - Interested vendors must reference the notice ID in their submissions.

Description

VENDORS MUST REFERENCE THE NOTICE ID IF SUBMITTING A CAPABILITY STATEMENT. 

Synopsis:

NASA/NSSC has a requirement for INVENIO-X Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer with MultiTect unit. 

NASA/NSSC intends to issue a sole source contract to BRUKER SCIENTIFIC LLC: 40 MANNING RD | BILLERICA, MA 01821-3915 under the authority of FAR 12.102(a). It has been determined that BRUKER SCIENTIFIC LLC is the sole provider of INVENIO-X Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer with MultiTect unit.

NASA/NSSC will be the procuring center for this effort. Performance will be located at NASA/ Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC).

The Government intends to acquire Commercial items or services using the provisions, clauses and procedures prescribed in FAR Part 12 for Commercial

The NAICS Code for this procurement is 334516.

Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 8:30 p.m. Central Standard Time on 7/31/2026. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
