Description
EO 14395, MISP VC HVAC REPLACEMENTThe National Park Service, Region 2, South Atlantic Gulf, intends to award a Firm Fixed price contract for HVAC replacement services located at Mill Springs National Battlefield Monument located in Nancy, Kentucky. The project will replace the existing geothermal water-source heat pump (WSHP) system serving the Visitor Center with a modern air-source Variable Refrigerant Flow VRF) system. The work includes demolition of existing equipment and installation of new LG VRF condensing units and associated indoor air handling systems. The determination to select Advanced Mechanical Contractors, Inc. for the services is based on logical follow-on of prior work on the current HVAC system and warranty on aspects of the work. Additionally, it is in the best interest of the government to utilize AMC due to the specialized nature and complexity of the existing geothermal HVAC infrastructure and the contractor’s prior experience performing HVAC system replacements and modifications at the Visitor Center. The selected company possesses direct familiarity with the facility’s existing systems, building conditions, and operational requirements, which substantially reduces the risk of installation conflicts, extended downtime, and system integration issues. Additionally, it is in the best interest of the Government to stay with the original contractor to decrease potential costs on the overall project by saving on unnecessary manpower for re-accomplishing aspects of this project that have already accomplished. It is the only source that can provide the services required for this completion of this project. NAICS Code: 238220, Plumbing, Heating, and Air-Conditioning Contractors, Standard business size is $19M. The National Park Service is presently using SAM/FBO to issue synopsis for Notice of Intent to Award Sole Source Justifications and Sources Sought. The synopsis may be viewed online at: https://beta.sam.gov. FBO will be the only means of obtaining the amendments and will be able to receive electronic notification of solicitations and awards. CAUTION: This synopsis will be issued electronically as will any amendments. The Government is under no obligation to maintain a bidder's list. It is incumbent for any interested parties to obtain any amendments which may be issued.
