Description

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announces the designation of a class of employees from the Savannah River Site in Aiken, South Carolina, as an addition to the Special Exposure Cohort (SEC) under the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act of 2000. This class includes all construction trade employees of Department of Energy subcontractors who worked at the site from January 1, 1991, through December 31, 1993, for at least 250 workdays. The designation excludes employees of prime contractors of Westinghouse Savannah River Company during this period. The designation will become effective on August 7, 2026, unless Congress provides otherwise prior to that date.
