This opportunity is for the repower and repair of a United States Air Force Almar 26-foot Sounder T-Top vessel at Joint Base Charleston, SC. - Government Buyer: - United States Air Force, Air Mobility Command, 628th Contracting Squadron (FA4418 628 CONS PK) at Joint Base Charleston - Products/Services Requested: - Removal of legacy propulsion and control systems from one Almar Aluminum Boats 26-foot Sounder T-Top vessel - Installation of two new 150 HP 4-stroke EFI outboard engines (port and starboard rotation, 25-inch shaft, NMEA 2000 compliant, stainless steel propellers, OEM top-mount dual binnacle controls) - New hydraulic steering system compatible with 150 HP engines - New marine-grade, tinned-copper wiring for all new components - Two 12V marine-grade AGM batteries (dual-purpose, starting and deep-cycle, with manual battery switch) - USCG/ABYC-rated fuel system components (fuel lines, anti-siphon valves, fuel/water separating filters, fittings) - Digital LED marine gauge cluster (specified gauges for fuel, trim/tilt, water pressure, voltmeter, hour meter, tachometer, speed, water temperature, oil pressure) - All labor, materials, and transportation - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Contractor's commercial repair facility must be within a 50-mile highway driving radius of Joint Base Charleston – Naval Weapons Station, SC - Work must comply with ABYC, USCG, COLREGS, and EPA standards - Mandatory in-person joint sea trials and final inspection with USAF personnel - All work, including final acceptance and return delivery, must be completed within 90 days of contract award - Warranty includes OEM parts warranties and a 12-month workmanship warranty - No specific OEMs, part numbers, or brands are named, but the requirements are compatible with major outboard engine manufacturers

Description

Joint Base Charleston is seeking vendors for the repower and repair of one (1) United States Air Force Almar 26-foot Sounder T-Top vessel.

The anticipated scope of work will require the contractor to provide all labor, materials, and transportation to remove legacy propulsion/control systems and install new dual outboard engines, compatible hydraulic steering, electrical wiring, batteries, and digital instrumentation.

Note on Geographic Limitation: To mitigate transportation risk to the Government-owned hull and to facilitate mandatory in-person joint sea trials with USAF personnel, the contractor’s commercial repair facility must be located within a fifty (50) mile highway driving radius of Joint Base Charleston – Naval Weapons Station, SC.
