Description

The University of Alberta intends to contract with Liburdi Turbine Services to acquire a Hybrid Laser system compatible with an existing LAWS-250 Laser Directed Energy Deposition 2nd Gen. The system will enable in-situ monitoring between the two systems and laser sintering of dark ceramics for defense and nuclear applications. It features a 1 kW focused laser for sintering/melting multiple materials and a 400-watt high pulse fiber laser for surface treatment and laser ablation. The system uses a special integrated coupler for beam switching.
