Description
The Strathcona Regional District (SRD) is soliciting proposals from qualified contractors for the supply and installation of grid-tied solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery backup electrical systems at two fire hall facilities on Cortes Island, British Columbia. The project includes integration with existing automatic backup generators at both sites. The solar PV arrays will generate power and charge battery banks during normal operation, while the battery banks will supply critical loads during grid outages, with backup generators starting automatically if battery charge falls below a threshold. The two project sites are Firehall #1 at Mansons Landing and Firehall #2 at Whaletown, with budgets of $75,000 and $50,000 respectively.
