Description
This project aims to identify and engineer protein and small molecule therapeutics, probes, and vaccine immunogens for the treatment and long-acting inhibition of HIV/AIDS. The research focuses on targeting the unique glycan shield of the HIV spike protein using engineered carbohydrate-binding proteins and bispecific antibody chimeras. Additional subprojects include discovering natural product inhibitors, peptide-based probes of HIV-1 cell entry, and studying HIV-1 Envelope-coreceptor interactions. The goal is to develop novel prevention and treatment strategies for HIV/AIDS, addressing challenges such as drug resistance and vaccine design.
