Description

The National Eye Institute (NEI) is seeking research co-development partners and/or licensees to develop an AAV2-based delivery system or an eyedrop formulation to deliver a Pigment Epithelium-Derived Factor (PEDF) peptide. This gene-agnostic approach aims to treat inherited retinal diseases such as retinitis pigmentosa and age-related macular degeneration. The technology includes a proprietary 17-mer PEDF peptide with neurotrophic and antiangiogenic properties, designed to protect photoreceptors and prevent vision loss. The invention is available for licensing and co-development to advance treatment options for retinal degenerations.
