The City of Redondo Beach Public Works-Engineering department is seeking bids for the Citywide Curb Ramp Improvements 2024 Project to enhance accessibility across the city. - Buyer: City of Redondo Beach Public Works-Engineering - Scope of Work: - Upgrade and replace non-compliant curb ramps to meet current ADA standards - Remove and construct asphalt and Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) pavements - Install ADA-compliant curb ramps (24 units), curb and gutter (Type A2: 820 LF, Type A1: 130 LF), PCC sidewalk and transition panels (3,679 SF), asphalt removal and replacement (261 tons), retaining curb (250 LF), cross gutter and spandrel (341 SF), and pavement markings - Additional work includes sign installation (11 units), water valve and hydrant relocation (3 units), and utility adjustments - Requirements: - Bidders must be licensed Class A contractors with at least 5 years of relevant experience - All bids must be submitted electronically via the City’s OpenGov portal - Project completion required within 60 working days after Notice to Proceed - No specific OEMs or vendors are named in the solicitation - All quantities and technical specifications are detailed in the project plans and bid schedule

Description

This project involves upgrading existing curb ramps to meet accessibility standards, including removal and construction of pavements, ramps, gutters, utility adjustments, and related work as shown in the plans and specifications. The work includes mobilization, traffic control, material testing, survey, water pollution control, ADA curb ramp removal and installation, curb and gutter work, sidewalk and transition panel construction, asphalt removal and replacement, retaining curb, cross gutter and spandrel, sign installation, water valve and hydrant relocation, and pavement markings. The project must be completed within 60 working days after Notice to Proceed. Bidders must be licensed Class A with at least 5 years of experience and submit bids electronically via the City of Redondo Beach OpenGov portal.
