Description

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is issuing a final debarment order under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FD&C Act) debarring Francis Esteban Matos for 5 years from importing or offering for import any drug into the United States. This action is based on Mr. Matos's conviction of a felony related to the importation of misbranded drugs into interstate commerce. Mr. Matos operated a business that obtained and distributed pharmaceutical drugs without a license and without requiring prescriptions, violating multiple provisions of the FD&C Act. He was given notice and an opportunity for a hearing but failed to respond, resulting in a waiver of his right to a hearing.
