Description
The Coast Guard will enforce a safety zone on the main branch of the Chicago River between Michigan Avenue Bridge (Mile Marker 326.5) and the Columbus Drive Bridge (Mile Marker 326.7) for the Annual Chicago Ducky Derby marine event. During the enforcement period on August 6, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., entry into, transiting, mooring, laying-up, or anchoring within the safety zone is prohibited unless authorized by the Captain of the Port Lake Michigan or a designated on-scene representative. This action is taken to ensure safety of life on the navigable waterway during the event.
