The City of Arlington Public Works Department is soliciting bids for the 2026 Miscellaneous Sidewalk and ADA Ramp project, focused on improving pedestrian infrastructure and ADA compliance at various locations throughout Arlington, Texas. - Government Buyer: - City of Arlington, Department of Public Works - Office of the Director of Public Works and Roadway Engineering - Project Scope: - Construction and improvement of sidewalks, ADA-compliant ramps, driveways, curb and gutter, drainage, water and sanitary sewer infrastructure, and related site work - Addresses out-of-compliance ADA facilities, safe route to school requests, and general sidewalk requests - Products/Services Requested: - Approximately 6,950 square yards of sidewalk construction - 7,000 square yards of sod installation - 550 square yards of driveway construction - 75 ADA-compliant ramps (including TxDOT PED-18) - Curb and gutter, retaining walls, handrails, pavement markings, tree removal, mailbox adjustments, utility adjustments, and other related civil works - Specialized items such as galvanized Evergrate with Tsunami ADA grates, Type A handrails, and hot mix asphaltic concrete drive approach transitions - Notable Requirements: - All prime contractors must be prequalified with the Public Works Department for sidewalk work prior to bid opening - Submission of Certificates of Insurance for both prime and subcontractors - Adherence to City of Arlington and NCTCOG construction specifications, including for concrete sidewalks and barrier-free ramps - Compliance with prevailing wage rates, performance, payment, and maintenance bonds - Maintenance of two-way traffic at all times and coordination with utility providers - Restoration of disturbed areas to original or better condition - Strict 365-day completion period with liquidated damages for delays - OEMs and Vendors: - No specific OEMs or product brands are mandated; however, "Evergrate" and "Tsunami ADA Grate" are referenced for certain drainage grates - Estimated Contract Value: - Approximately $1,736,125.71
