Orange County, NY is seeking qualified engineering firms to provide comprehensive design and geotechnical services for stabilizing two failing slopes along County Road 32 (Mill Street) in Cornwall and County Road 74 (Forge Hill Road) in New Windsor. - Government Buyer: - Orange County Department of Public Works (DPW), Division of Engineering - Scope of Work: - Slope stability analysis, field investigations, and geotechnical testing - Installation and monitoring of equipment (piezometers, tilt meters, robotic total stations) - Development of two stabilization recommendations for each site - Preparation of detailed design plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates - Hydraulic and hydrologic studies of adjacent waterways - Construction phase support including materials testing and inspection - Products & Services Requested: - Monitoring equipment (tilt meters, total stations, piezometers) - Slope stabilization measures: soil nails, mesh, erosion control matting, soldier pile and lagging walls, riprap, anchored walls, stream barbs, geocell matting, and plantings - Professional engineering services for investigation, design, and construction support - Annual monitoring (aerial photography, LIDAR/radar scanning, stream gauge installation) - Quantities & Line Items: - Multiple line items for monitoring equipment and slope stabilization (see detailed list below) - Annual monitoring over 2-6 years for CR32; 5 years for CR74 - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Experience with geotechnical assessments and FEMA mitigation compliance - Ability to provide multiple stabilization options and long-term monitoring - Coordination with hydraulic studies and environmental restoration - OEMs & Vendors: - No specific OEMs or proprietary vendors are named; open to qualified engineering firms and suppliers of geotechnical monitoring equipment - Estimated Contract Value: - Ranges from $5.8 million to $23 million, depending on site conditions and monitoring duration
Description
The County of Orange is seeking a qualified firm to provide engineering design services for stabilizing two slopes adjacent to County Road 32 (Mill Street) in the Town of Cornwall and County Road 74 (Forge Hill Road) in the Town of New Windsor. The work includes slope analysis, testing, two stabilization recommendations, and a full detailed design with plans and specifications to support a construction restoration RFB. The consultant will also provide a detailed cost estimate for the proposed construction project. The contract term is 3 years with an optional two-year renewal.
