Description

The U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs (OES), Office of Ocean and Polar Affairs (OPA) is seeking applications from U.S. institutions, companies, or organizations to conduct ocean mapping, seabed exploration, habitat and resource characterization, and data management and analysis in Pacific Island Countries (PICs). The project aims to provide environmental baseline data, locate and characterize habitats and resources within national jurisdictions, analyze impacts for ocean resource management, and build regulatory frameworks to support private sector investment. The funding supports cooperative agreements with a performance period from September 30, 2026, to March 30, 2031, with awards ranging from $2 million to $7 million. Priority countries include the Cook Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Tonga, and others in the Pacific region.
