The City of Westland, Michigan, is seeking qualified vendors to provide professional services and construction for the 2026 Sidewalk Gap Program. - Government Buyer: - City of Westland, Department of Public Services, Purchasing Division - Scope of Work: - Installation of approximately 2,600 linear feet of new concrete sidewalks along South Merriman and Cherry Hill Avenues - All new sidewalks must comply with current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards - Includes site preparation, removal of existing pavement, curbs, gutters, driveways, and trees as needed - Installation of aggregate base, concrete sidewalks (4-inch and 6-inch), sidewalk ramps (7-inch), driveways (6-inch), curbs and gutters (6-inch), and hot mix asphalt (HMA) wearing course (2-inch) - Restoration work such as topsoil placement, seeding or sodding, fertilizer, mulch, and watering - Traffic maintenance and control, erosion and sediment control, and utility coordination - Products/Services Requested: - Mobilization, traffic control, sidewalk and pavement removal, tree removal, aggregate base placement, concrete and asphalt paving, ADA-compliant ramps, and site restoration - Detailed line items include: 11,300 sq ft of 4-inch sidewalk, 1,750 sq ft of 6-inch sidewalk, 275 sq ft of 7-inch sidewalk ramps, 45 driveways, 150 curbs and gutters, and 48 sq ft of HMA wearing course - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Strict adherence to ADA standards for all sidewalk and ramp installations - Performance and payment bonds required - Compliance with local, state, and federal non-discrimination and insurance requirements - Liquidated damages of $1,000 per day for delays beyond the completion date - No specific OEMs are named; the opportunity is open to all qualified vendors capable of meeting the technical and regulatory requirements

The City of Westland is seeking proposals from experienced and qualified vendors for professional services related to the 2026 Sidewalk Gap Program. The project involves installing approximately 2,600 linear feet of new concrete sidewalks and connecting existing sidewalks on South Merriman and Cherry Hill Avenues in Westland, MI. The sidewalks will be constructed to current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards to promote uniformity and provide safe pedestrian travel. Sealed proposals are due by August 10, 2026, at 10:00 AM and will be publicly opened and read aloud at the Purchasing Division.
